Success

In our life, in some way or the other, we’ve been told or felt that we need to be the best at something, need to emerge victorious in a competition, need to be the best student, need to be the best at our job, need to be better than everyone else, but do we really need to?

Is being “number one”, being the best, really a necessity? Do we really need to be that different than everyone else? By being different, will we automatically be better than others? Happier?

Which one is really better: Winning, let’s say an art competition but not being happy with the result or not winning yet being satisfied and ecstatic with how your piece of art turned out?

I believe happiness doesn’t have a universal standard. What makes one person happy needn’t make the other one happy too. Many will be overjoyed upon knowing that they’re doing better in their field than everyone else, rightfully so, but does that mean that by not being the best, you’re not successful?

If you’re happy doing what you’re doing, nobody can tell you you’re not successful. ”

At the end of the day, you need to be content and elated with what you’re doing.
